Getting Sleep Help for your child


HOW DO I KNOW IF I HAVE A PROBLEM?
If you are reading this website, chances are something isn’t working with your child’s current sleep routine. These are familiar issues that parents are dealing with and that I can help.Generally, a child's sleep habits become a problem if the sleeping situation is not working for your family.


Common Sleep Problems:

  • My child starts showing fearful signs when we get ready for bed and starts crying and fussing when we start the bedtime routine
  • My child won’t go to sleep unless I rock, hold, feed and/or sooth for very long periods of time at bedtime and at each waking.
  • My child wakes multiple times(2-6 x per night) per night and cannot fall back asleep without my assistance of either or all: rocking, feeding, pacificer, holding, lying with them.
  • My child is awake for long periods during the night and cannot or will not go to sleep either with or without my assistance
  • My child fights going to bed at night or takes a very long time to finally go to sleep
  • My child is not napping in his/her crib but only in the stroller, car seat or swing
  • My child will not nap unless rock, hold or soothing for increasingly longer periods of time
  • My child has stopped taking naps and is too young to go without them
  • My child is pooping or soaking through their diaper at night and waking -he or she is older than 4 months of age
  • I don't know how to eliminate the night feed my child is taking (child is over 9 months of age)
  • My child used to be a great sleeper (usually months 0-4) and now they wake frequently at night, need my assistance or won’t go to sleep unless I rock, hold, feed or provide some type of assistance
  • My child used to be very good at taking naps and now she is fighting them and won’t take them or takes very short naps and is tired and cranky all day
  • I just came back from a long haul international flight and now my child won't go to bed unless I rock/feed/hold/sleep with them.
